Alive and Thriving

I want that phrase to be my self-fulfilling prophecy right now. It has so many meanings! For example, yes I am still alive and thriving, though you wouldn’t know it by checking on my blog. One of the things keeping me away from the blog, however, is the one thing that generates the most post material anyway, so that’s mighty convenient. :)

Indeed, Sun In Bloom’s raw dessert offerings are very much both alive and thriving.

As I brainstormed a number of additions to this selection, I got to sample the “Ooh-la-la,” a raw chocolate chai cake. Suffice it to say that it is very well named!

The bottom layer is chocolate-chai flavored while the upper layer is chai, but without the chocolate. And the whole thing is slathered in raw white chocolate buttercream frosting!

I really might not have known it was raw if I didn’t know that beforehand. Who cares, anyway, when there’s delicious cake in your life?!

Excited to get my hands back into raw dessert-making on Thursday night. Here’s hoping I’ll have a winner on my hands!

That said, I’m always looking for inspiration for new creations. Which traditionally non-raw dessert would you want raw-ified?

wow. i can't believe your food artistry, diana!!!! omg i am beyond impressed with these works of art (food) that you're making!

raw'ified peppermint patties, remember when you told me that :) seems like a lifetime ago :)

anyway...what do i want rawified. I have made what i have needed in general but am always wanting more...I'd say if you could make a raw vegan GF cinnamon roll dough, I'd be impressed. I have seen it done but it takes so many steps and 18 hrs...more the GF vegan is important than the raw :)

or just show us your lovely creations, that's more than enough!

Thanks, Averie! I wish I could take credit for the chocolate chai cake but alas this particular creation is not mine. I just had to share my own Sun In Bloom "ooh la la " moment!

I just had a mug of chai tea while watching the late night news tonight. Now your post makes me want cake. Damn!!

I recently had a chocolate banana cake with whipped chocolate frosting and while it was all-natural, raw it was not.

Or maybe some raw, all-natural Samoa Girl Scout cookies. I've been seeing those on the blogs recently and a gander at a no name box at the grocery store made me realize that I'll never have those again (I stay away from corn syrup). If you could find a way to make those Samoa cookies all-natural and raw, I would name my first born after you--if I ever decide to have any ;)

Two words Diana: Taste. Tester! :)

I would want a raw-ified desser involving pb and chocolate. Or apple pie! The possibilities are endless. Or cupcakes. I love cupcakes. Mmmmmm.

I'd love if there was a way to make a molten chocolate cake, but raw. Naturally, it wouldn't be served super hot, but warmed within the limitations of "raw" with the ooey gooey center and a scoop of raw ice cream would be pretty freakin' amazing.

I went to a raw Dessert place in NYC last night! (One Lucky Duck) I love raw desserts! Most of the time you can't tell they are raw at all! So delicious : )
